This position is contingent upon contract award.

Diligent Consulting Inc. is seeking a Documentation Specialist/Technical Writer to support the Government Publishing Office (GPO) under the SecDevOps Program — a cybersecurity modernization initiative designed to enhance GPO’s enterprise security posture. The program supports GPO’s mission to safeguard the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of its digital assets, platforms, and services through the adoption of Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), secure DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.

In this role, you will be responsible for authoring and maintaining technical and operational documentation critical to supporting compliance, audit readiness, and ATO (Authority to Operate) activities in alignment with Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, revise, and maintain security and operational documentation, including:

    • System Security Plans (SSPs)

    • Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms)

    • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

    • Runbooks

  • Ensure documentation follows standards for consistency, formatting, metadata tagging, and version control.

  • Support the preparation and maintenance of ATO documentation packages and compliance deliverables.

  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, DevOps, and system administration teams to capture accurate technical details.

  • Translate complex technical information into clear, readable documentation for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Support the establishment and enforcement of documentation templates, style guides, and repositories.


Qualifications:

  • Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, or related field.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Meticulous attention to detail and document organization.

    • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

    • U.S. Citizenship required.

  • Preferred:

    • Experience with RMF, NIST SP 800-53 controls, and ATO processes.

    • Experience supporting federal cybersecurity or IT modernization projects.

    • Certifications such as ITIL Foundation, CompTIA Security+, or related credentials.
