Bring your Java development expertise to a mission-critical DoD timekeeping system that ensures accurate and efficient financial and workforce management. Join a team dedicated to supporting the DISA Automated Time Attendance and Production System (DATAAPS) within Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) and play a key role in modernizing and optimizing enterprise IT solutions.

As a Senior Software Engineer supporting DATAAPS, the candidate will be responsible for the design, development, integration, and enhancement of Java-based enterprise applications. They will ensure the scalability, security, and compliance of the system while working in alignment with DoD cybersecurity policies (DoD 8140.03) and CMMI best practices. The candidate will be involved in all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), emphasizing requirements analysis, system evaluation, integration, testing, and acceptance (IV&V and DT&E). They will develop and maintain web applications using modern front-end and back-end technologies, optimize database performance, and ensure that software solutions are delivered within time and cost constraints.

Proficiency in Java/JavaScript

Hands-on experience in Java development for enterprise applications.

Web Development & UI/UX Expertise

Strong knowledge of HTML/XHTML, CSS, and XML for building and enhancing web applications.

Database & Backend Systems

Experience with Oracle Database and Oracle PL/SQL for data management and optimization.

Agile Development Practices

Ability to work in an Agile environment, contributing to iterative development and continuous improvement.

CMMI Best Practices

Familiarity with Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) methodologies for software development and quality assurance.

Cybersecurity Compliance

Meets DoD Manual 8140.03 requirements for cyber workforce qualification and system security.

Systems Integration & Performance Optimization

Ability to analyze, evaluate, and integrate software components for improved efficiency and security.

Technical Documentation & Stakeholder Communication

Strong ability to prepare technical reports, system documentation, and briefings for leadership and end-users.
