About the Role

Diligent Consulting is seeking a Cloud Architect to support the U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) under the Managed Information Technology Services (MITS) contract at Scott AFB. This role focuses on modernizing critical cloud infrastructure for a combatant command, working with the TCJ6 Directorate to deliver secure, scalable, and mission-ready solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement modern cloud solutions across Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments.

  • Lead cloud migrations, integrations, and operations with a focus on security and scalability.

  • Ensure compliance with DoD cloud computing policies and cybersecurity standards.

  • Develop automation scripts, templates, and pipelines to streamline infrastructure management.

  • Provide subject matter expertise in systems engineering, virtualization, and cloud strategy.

  • Serve as a senior advisor to program leadership on advanced cloud and technical initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS)

  • Experience: 10+ years in cloud engineering/architecture roles

  • Clearance: Active DoD Secret

  • Certifications:

    • IAT Level III (CISSP, CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, etc.)

    • CE Certification (Azure preferred; AWS, Oracle, IBM accepted)

Required Skills

  • Strong experience with Azure and AWS cloud platforms

  • Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture and ITSM tools

  • Proficiency in Red Hat Linux, PowerShell, Bash, Git, and YAML/JSON scripting

  • Experience with Active Directory, Azure AD, VPNs, and VDI (AWS Workspaces)

  • Familiar with CloudFormation, EC2 Image Builder, and SSM documents

Additional Information

  • Work Schedule: Monday–Friday (Standard Business Hours)

  • On-call Support: Occasional after-hours/weekend support for planned or emergency events may be required.
